This is a chance for non-Shed Members (of any sex) to learn the basics about tools and home maintenance, etc. The course will run over three consecutive Friday afternoons from August 18th, 2022 ending on September 1st, timed from1pm to 4pm, and will broadly encompass the following subjects (others might be included on request): Basic description of "handyman" tools & their uses including hands-on experience. Fillers, Paintwork repairs, Doors & Hinges, Locks, Hanging Paintings, Plumbing, Roof & Guttering, Windows, Basic Reticulation. Simple Electrical queries; Tiling, Wood Finishes. The cost of the course is $80.00 per person which includes afternoon tea on each of the three afternoons and covers any materials used. You can book for a friend but must make a separate booking for each attendee (preferably in their name!). NB: Payment is by Credit Card via Stripe - no card payment details are held by MPMS. Those that attended the first few sessions of the Gentle Gym will be aware of the benefits that can accrue to the body if you involve yourself with regular exercise. Unfortunately, GG organiser, Bill Holly, has not been able to attend the last couple of sessions but hopes to be back on deck shortly. There has been sufficient initial interest from Shedders to justify placing payments for Gentle Gym onto the same basis as that of the successful SHEDSong group. It will work on the school term schedule basis. There are eight more Wednesday's in the current school term which will end on 30 June. We need everyone to pay 80 dollars (ten dollars per week) for the remaining eight Wednesdays. This will allow us to engage trainer Steve Swanson who has currently been working without any payment. We do not want to waste Steve’s valuable time by collecting attendance fees each week thus it is preferred that your payment is made in advance via our website.
